Zones for a left-handed operator
Everything flips: the mirror image of the right-handed layout.
For a left-handed operator, the zones are a mirror image: the operator's zone is about 12 to 5 o'clock, the transfer zone 5 to 8, the assistant's zone 8 to 10 and the static zone 10 to 12. The operator works from the patient's left side, the assistant sits on the patient's right, and the assistant passes instruments with the right hand and holds the HVE in the left.
What it is used for
- Ask a left-handed clinician how they like the room set up; some rooms convert, others do not.
