Mini Five (mini-bladed) Gracey
Also called: Mini Five, mini curette, mini-bladed Gracey
An extended-shank Gracey with a blade half as long, for narrow pockets and furcations.
Mini Five curettes have the same long lower shank as the After Five, but the blade is half as long. The short blade fits narrow, deep pockets, furcations (spaces between roots) and tight areas.
How to spot it
- Long terminal shank like an After Five, but a tiny blade (half the standard length).
What it is used for
- Narrow pockets, furcations and line angles.
Safety and care
- Critical item (it goes into soft tissue or touches bone): clean it, package it and heat-sterilize it after every patient.
- Sharp working end: carry it point-down in a closed cassette, and never reach blindly into a pile of instruments.
