4. Rinse and dry
Rinse off cleaner residue, then dry instruments before packaging.
After cleaning, rinse instruments with water to remove detergent, then dry them. Wet instruments can rust, and packaging them wet can cause wet packs after the cycle. Treat instruments as contaminated until they are sterilized.
What you do
- Rinse with minimal splashing; dry with a towel or drying cycle as your office does it.
Safety and care
- Keep wearing utility gloves and eye protection.
