Hollenback carver

Also called: Hollenback 3S, half-Hollenback

A thin angled blade carver for shaping the sides and between teeth.

The Hollenback carver has thin, angled, knife-like blades. It is used to carve the proximal (side) areas of a filling and remove excess material along the margins.

How to spot it

  • Thin, narrow, flat blades angled off the shank, smaller than a discoid-cleoid.

What it is used for

Safety and care

  • Semicritical item (it touches the inside of the mouth): clean it, package it and heat-sterilize it after every patient.
